I’m a cognitive neurology research fellow and a recipient of a NINDS-funded R25 grant. I’m working in the lab of Dr. Shafi to establish a program for TMS/iEEG as well as intracranial recordings more broadly. These recordings are done in a clinical setting with patients undergoing evaluation for epilepsy surgery. They afford direct links between electrical activity within the brain and cognitive processes such as memory-recall or spatial navigation. With iEEG we will also be investigating how TMS propagates throughout the nervous system in areas that are difficult to record in conventional electroencephalography. With this we hope to improve TMS protocols for more efficacious therapies. I am also working on a dataset investigating neurophysiologic measurements (including TMS/EEG) in former American Football Players and how these relate to various clinical conditions.
