Brief Narrative:
Jhenifa received her undergraduate degree in psychobiology from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Following graduation, she took a two-year hiatus to work full-time at a startup hospital in Tustin, California and then pursued her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. During her graduate career at EWU, she worked with Dr. Philip Watkins in his Gratitude, Joy, and Happiness Lab and interned at Children’s Home Society in Spokane, Washington. Upon moving to Massachusetts, she focused on honing her clinical skills by engaging in wraparound care with children and families at Open Sky Community Services. Although she enjoyed the rewarding experience of therapeutic services, Jhenifa is very enthusiastic about human cognition, particularly cognitive testing, and immediately jumped on the opportunity to work in BIDMC’s Cognitive Neurology Unit as a psychometrist. Jhenifa has been a part of the CNU team since 2020 and eventually transitioned to the lead psychometrist position in 2025.
Personal Interests/Hobbies:
Dabbling in the culinary arts (mainly eating), dinners and games with family and friends, road trips/traveling, reading, and making lasting memories and new discoveries with her little family.
